Abstract

Topology optimization is the most flexible structural optimization method that allows the topological changes such as increase and decrease of the number of holes in addition to the change of boundary shapes, and can implement new functions as well as significantly improving the structural performance. In this paper, we introduce a structural design of metamaterials that have the negative bulk modulus, and hyperbolic and parabolic dispersion relations based on topology optimization.
