Simulation-based business process design method to respond to demand fluctuations

Abstract

First, in this study, we categorized the types of demand, which is the source of requests processed by business processes, into two types: cyclical demand, in which demands are generated periodically according to a planned schedule, and acyclic demand, in which the generation of demands is stochastic and random. Next, the business process for processing the demands from these two different types of demand was studied using a simulation-based business process design method proposed in a previous study.
