Heritage rises among the nations. And the individual community-based town planning to put weight on the
significance of local cultural assets becomes active. To this, the so-called Historical Community Planning Law was
established by Agency for Cultural Affairs, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2008.
This report confirms conventional progress about these Historical Community Planning. And I examine the
current situations and issues.
In addition, I report significance and the activity plan of "Tochigi Historical Community Planning Center" which
was established as a satellite campus by Oyama National College of Technology. This institution uses a house
which is registered as national cultural property in the historic center of Tochigi City.
