Abstract
This paper reports on creation of study program for a science experiment and handicraft classes aimed at elementary school students. In this program each student builds a paper airplane using ground effect and competes on the flight distance.
First we designed and manufactured paper template of airplane and gum-powered catapult-assisted launch equipment that were needed for execution of this program. Also, lecture contents were prepared to teach students how airplanes fly.
Using this program, we actually offered about two hours of science class twice. The result showed wing-in-ground effect craft was a suitable teaching material for beginners, because the airplane had simple structure that made adjustment for stable flight easy. But the program demands continual refinement so as to extract technical creativity from students.
