In this paper, we present a method for visualizing similarities between bacterial floras. In the presented method, all DNA sequences obtained from samples are transformed into vectorial data by multidimensional scaling (MDS). After this process, we obtain bacterial distributions in a vectorial representation. Then, we make a self-organizing map (SOM) of the bacterial distributions by SOM^2 algorithm to visualize similarities between the bacterial distributions. To illustrate the presented method, we apply the method to sediment samples taken from Doukai Bay in Kitakyushu. We confirmed the possibility that the presented method will be used as an aid for analyzing bacterial floras.
