One of most expected material for hydrogen storage is Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) which can hold up to 7 % hydrogen by weight using intermolecular interaction, already exceeded the US Department of Energy's target of 6 %. However this can only be achieved at very low temperature of -200 degrees C and hydrogen-storage capacity is reduced to around 1 % at ambient temperatures. So many efforts have been continueing to increase the capacity at realistic temperature but it seems not easy. This paper describes CO_2 and H_2 inclusion phenomenon of calix[4]arene with various functional groups. Thereby we have investigated their possibilities for practical use such as gas separation, transportation and storage including hydrogen storage for FC vehicles.
