Abstract

Microscopic simulation of deformation after hitting onto one point of the skull is important to understand how the shock wave propagate in the skull. We have done a simulation of one dimensional elastic model. This time we report two dimensional elastic model, which is more complex compared with the previous calculations. On the other hand, the experiment of backwards falling down has been done in JARI. On the basis of the sets of the data, micro movement of the center in the brain and deformation of the skull is calculated precisely. As a result, the whole picture of the falling and hitting and also micro deformation of the skull becomes clear. In order to understand these data, we adopt a model of a elastic material, and simulate the deformation and energy transformation, which shows how the shock wave propagate inside the material after hitting.
