The Korea Media Rating Board (KMRB) provides parents and users with information about movie content by rating movies into five classifications (All, 12+, 15+, 18+ and R). Seven elements of motion pictures such as theme, sex and nudity, violence, language, horror, drugs, and imitable behavior ratings affectthe rating. Many studies conducted to recognize emotion by using EEG [2-4]. We selected differently rated movies and measured EEG while the participants watching the movies. Recorded EEG was segmented and power estimates (µV2) were derived with the fast Fourier transform (FFT) for the delta, theta, alpha, beta and gamma power. Violent movies evoked increased EEG at frontal and parietal areas. Further studies are required to find how EEG is associated with violent movies.
