Mobile device has become very popular for our daily lives. Text messaging one of most frequently used fuctions of smartphone and tablet. Text input is often requested using the movile devices. Smartphone and tablet make users use their fingers for touching, double clicking and dragging. We measured EMG activity on right flexor cardi radialis (RFCR) and right extensor carpi ulinaris (RECU) for thumb-based activities. We detected devices significantly affect the activity of RFCR and RECU muscles. If same mobile device would be used, texting posture does not affect the activities of RFCR and RECU muscles.
