19. Computer supporting system for the diagnosis of surgical site infection using a fuzzy inference

Abstract

Surgical site infection is a complication after operation. Particularly it is one of the most important problem in the gastrointestinal operation. To prevent surgical site infection, surgeons have used antibiotics. But the selection of antibiotics and how to dose have depended only their experiences without the criterion. In this paper, we proposed a computer supporting system for detecting surgical site infection, employing the fuzzy inference based on the data of differential counts of white blood cells.
