Ultrasound technique was used to extract vitamin B_2 from rice bran. The main advantages of the ultrasound procedure are the reduced times of extraction and more simpler than other conventional extraction method for the isolation of desired compounds from various samples. The vitamin B_2 in rice bran sample was extracted with aqueous solution under direct sonication in an ultrasound cleaning bath. After extraction procedure, the mixture is filtered through a membrane filter a pore size of 0.45.μm and the eluant tested for vitamin B_2 using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). An aliquot of the sample solution was analyzed by HPLC on a CAPCELL PAK C18 column (150mm x 4.6 mm i.d.) with CH_3OH:45 mM CH_3COOH (31:69) as mobile phase. Fluorometric detection was done at excitation and emission wavelength of 360 nm and 530 nm, respectively.
