Abstract
Single-bubble sonoluminescence from SDS aqueous solution was observed for the concentrations of 0.1, 0.5 and 1 mM and various Ar-gas conditions. Intensity of the sonoluminescence decreased rapidly with the increase in SDS concentrations. This may be caused by the two factors: the decrease in bubble temperature due to decomposition of SDS molecules within bubble and violent translation of bubble resulting in nonspherical bubble oscillation. From measurements using an optical filter transmitting 589 nm, the indication of Na emission was obtained for SDS concentration of 1 mM and 7% Ar concentration.
