R&K Corporation was founded in 1977 and initially specialized in RF microwave electronic components as its main products, but has since evolved into satellite down converters, ultrasound printer drivers, medical RF amplifiers, accelerator parts, VLBI receivers, satellite receivers, PHS base station amplifiers, EMC power amplifiers, and a few hundred-KW power amplifiers for accelerators. The history of the company over the past 47 years is explained below. What was truly unique was that even though the RF propagation space used to drive the RF power changed from sound waves to radio waves to light, the transmitter and receiver themselves did not change significantly in design.
