Abstract
Formation mechanism of β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) soild solution with various metal ions was investigated. β-TCP doped with univalent metal ions consisted of single β-TCP phase up to about 9mol%. β-TCP doped with more than 9mol% of univalent metal ion changed to Ca10M(PO4)7. The Ca(4) site and vacancy of β-TCP would be replaced with 9mol% of univalent metal ions in maximum. In the case of β-TCP doped with Mg2+ ion, Ca(5) and Ca(4) sites of β-TCP were replaced by 14.3mol% of Mg2+ ion in maxmium.
