Abstract
Tribological properties of hot-pressed B4C-metal boride ceramics were investigated by Block-on-Ring test method, comparing with B4C without additive. Worn surface of B4C-CrB2 was rather smooth. It seems, therfore, that wear of B4C-CrB2 ceramic proceeds via tribochemical reaction with a counter material of SiC. In addition SiC ring was scarcely worn when B4C-CrB2 ceramic was used as a block specimen.
