Abstract
Active gas condensation method combined with a co-evaporation process and uneven bar system is employed to synthesize the ceria-zirconia solid solution based nanocluster composites. The grain size, shapes and composition of the nanocluster composites were controlled by the gas pressure, heating temperature and configuration of the heating boats inside the active gas condensation chamber. High-resolution TEM, SEM and catalytic measurements have been used to characterize the samples and study the synergistic effect between the catalyst phase and the ceria-zirconia solid solution.
