Abstract
Mesoporous silica was prepared by sol-gel method using Si(OC2H5)4 in the presence of organic surfactant. Ti(OC2H5)4 and Al(OC2H5)3 were used as Ti and Al source. The average pore size was 2.5-3.2nm and the specific surface area was 1150-1300m2/g. The mesoporous structure was not changed by the addition of titania and alumina. The acidity of TiO2-added mesoporous silica exhibited the maximum at a low TiO2 content and was higher than that of Al2O3-added mesoporous silica. This is because the acid strength of TiO2/SiO2 system is higher than that of Al2O3/SiO2 system.
