Abstract
In this study, low-voltage and high-brightness three-electrode flat display device was manufactured on the base of ZnO:Al whisker-type cold emitter for the first time. The ZnO:Al whiskers were synthesized using an atmospheric chemical vapor deposition (CVD) apparatus. The a-CNx:H films were coated on the tip of the ZnO:Al whiskers by microwave plasma CVD. The high-brightness condition of the device was achieved at an operating voltage of 250 V.
