Negative charged surface (N-surface) of the polarized HAp has been found to accelerate bone like apatite growth in simulated body fluid (SBF) immersion test, and it is also known that bone apatite is more analogous to the crystal structure of carbonate hydroxyapatite (CHAp) than hydroxyapatite (HAp). In this study, the behavior of the polarized CHAp was investigated in SBF solution. Synthesized CHAp was sintered in CO2 gasses and polarized in dc field at a high temperature. Polarization capacity was estimated by thermally simulated depolarization current (TSDC) measurement and SBF immersion test for 1day. The depolarization current was observed by TSDC measurements. As the result of SBF immersion test for 1day, polarized CHAp accelerated bone like apatite on the N-surface of the polarized CHAp.
