Abstract
Many amorphous hydrates layers are produced in the process of cement hydration, who control the rate of hydration. It is well known that the induction period in the hydration of C 3 S or alite is the result of the protective layer produced. Here, we will report that the amorphous layer was produced and affected the rate of hydration in several cases. They are in the case of the hydration of C 3 A with gypsum, the hydration of crystalline or amorphous C 12 A 7 , the hydration of C 4 A 3 _S with H 3 BO 3 and the hydration of C 4 AF with SiO 2 .
