It is known that waste material of steelmaking slag includes many calcium silicate compounds and it reacts with CO 2 to make a hardened material with a compressive strength of several 10s MPa. The advantages of this process are the effective use of wastes of steelmaking slag and CO 2 gas. The global warming can be reduced by consolidation of CO 2 . Carbonation of steelmaking slag is an exothermic reaction. A few studies have been made for this reaction, and carbonation process of steelmaking slag has not been clarified yet. In this study, the heat evolution of carbonation process under various CO 2 partial pressures was measured and discussed.
