Abstract

This study presented novel characterization method, polarized light microscopy, which can reveal particle orientation in green compact. Orientation degree was evaluated by measuring retardation. Relatively low orientation degree was detected by this method. It has not been able to detect by conventional XRD method. There is good relationship between orientation degree determined by XRD and polarized light microscopy.
