Abstract
Alpha-alumina thick film was prepared by electrophoretic deposition using formed carbon powder as an electrode, to which various kinds of shapes can be added easily, and which can be burned out while sintering the deposited alumina powder. The surface texture of the obtained alumina film was affected by the surface texture of the carbon electrode, which can be controlled by the variety of the used carbon powder, i.e., graphite or carbon black. Moreover, the quality of the thick film largely depends on the kind of binder used for the preparation of the electrode.
