Synthesis of ceramic oxides with negative thermal expansion and control of expansion behavior of materials

Abstract

The Control of thermal expansion of material was examined by co-sintering of ZrW₂O₈ with negative thermal expansion and ZrO₂, SnO₂, TiO₂ and Y₂O₃. It was revealed that control of thermal expansion of SnO₂ and ZrO₂ was possible by hybridization with ZrW₂O₈, whereas it was not for TiO₂ nor Y₂O₃.
