Abstract
β-sialon ceramics was fabricated using the nano-sized β-sialon powder by spark plasma sintering method. The β-sialon nano ceramics was found to have much higher corrosion resistance than commercialized Si3N4 ceramics. As a result of SPM observation of the surface, it was confirmed that the corrosion of β-SiAlON nano ceramics in acid made very slow progress because glass phase is hardly found in the grain boundary.
