Abstract
Recently, it has been found by our group that ZnO crystals grow on ZnO ceramic bar heated by electric current. In this research, Zn wire was heated by electric current under 0-100% O2 concentration in the ambient atmosphere. As a result, crystals grew on the Zn wire surface. The shape of the crystals was needle under an atmosphere containing O2. Under Ar atmosphere, crystal shapes were mainly rod and partly hexagram. From X-ray diffraction pattern, the grown crystals were considered to be ZnO.
