Abstract
Octahedral CrN single crystals with a size of 75 μm were obtained by heating Cr-Ga-Na ternary melt at 850°C and 3 MPa of N2 for 200 h. X-ray diffractometry revealed that the CrN single crystals had the cubic rock-salt structure with the lattice parameter a=4.1467(8)Å. The CrN single crystals exhibited antiferromagnetism below the Neel temperature of 290 K.
