Abstract
The tungstenbroze type-like Ba4Sm9.33Ti18O54 (BST) solid solutions are known as microwave dielectric ceramics showing excellent properties, but there is still less study on the property change by contorol of the BST microstructure. Columnar BST crystals were aligned in a mixture of solid-state-synthesized BST powders by type casting. Sinterd BST ceramics containing columnar crystals showed a textured microstructure with prolonged grains within the samples. Degree of orientation depended on the amount of columnar crystals. The relationship between grain orientation and microwave dielectric property for the textured BST ceramics was investigated.
