Abstract
Tungsten and molybdenum oxides and their composites were synthesized by an arc plasma method using W and Mo metals and their alloys as starting materials. It is realized that fine particles with a relatively uniform particle size of about 50 nm can be prepared for the WO3 and MoO3 products. In addition, the Mo1-xWxO3 compound is obtained as a single phase for tungsten and molybdenum oxide composites. For the obtained powders, photocatalytic properties were investigated compared with those for the commercial powders.
