Abstract
Carbonaceous materials such as polyamide and DLC are applying to fabrication of various functional thin films; however, their processing is difficult because of their surface hardness and chemically inactiveness. On the other hand, titania is well known to decompose organic substances by photocatalytic reaction, because it can generate some oxygen radicals under UV light irradiation. We have reported that a porous titania, which was prepared by phase separation-selective leaching method, has high photocatalytic activity. In this study, a porous titania wire which was made by using a same method was applied in order to process the surface of carbonaceous thin films in nanometer scale.
