Photocatalytic properties of micro-sized zinc oxide (ZnO) fibers derived from bis(acetylacetonato)zinc under visible-light irradiation have been examined. The ZnO fibers show decomposition behavior of a volatile organic compound (VOC), xylene, under the irradiation of white fluorescent light, which had a color temperature of 3500 K where visible-light is dominant. The behavior is also shown under the irradiation of 400 nm and 405 nm LED, while is not under 460 nm and 475 nm LED.
