Abstract

State of slurry for porcelain manufacture by the same preparation methods is changed according to season. However, since the factor of the seasonal variation of slurry was indefinite until now, it was difficult to keep slurry characteristics constant. So, in this study, in order to keep slurry characteristics constant, we were paying attention to the iron element in slurry. As a result, it discovered that the iron element increased when pottery stone slurry was heated. It was guessed that characteristic of slurry was changed by difference of equilibrium of iron element due to a different state according to grinding conditions or settling time. Moreover, it was guessed that the state of equilibrium of iron element was influenced by the creation state of the surface hydroxyl group of the pottery stone.
