Abstract
Titanium-collagen-hydroxyapatite(HAp) composite was fabricated by soaking of titanium, immobilized with collagen fibrils and urease, in a solution containing urea, calcium (Ca2+) and phosphate (PO4
3-) ions. HAp was homogeneously precipitated only on the surface of the titanium with collagen within 1h after soaking, when it was previously treatedin 0.6g/L of urease-containing solution. This composite may have high potential to enhance cytocompatibility.
