Abstract
Carbon fiber reinforced SiC matrix hybrid material has been expected as wear component because of its high specific stiffness, specific strength and wear resistance. In order to apply this material to brake disc, understanding of damage evolution behavior is necessary for safety application. In the present study, disc compression test of notched specimen was done. Based on the experimental results, the effect of stress concentration and loading mode on fracture behavior of this material under mode_I_and mode_I_+_II_mixed mode loading was discussed.
