Abstract
Sol-gel prepared silica gel macrospheres were soaked in titania sol derived from hydrolysis of tetraethylorthotitanate (TEOT) under varied pH and temperature (50~80°C) to obtain TiO2 - coated composite macrospheres. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron micrograph analysis indicated deposition of anatase particles (‹1μm) on the surface. pH of TEOT hydrolysis affected saturation adsorption of lysozyme (LSZ) but little that of bovine serum albumin (BSA): BSA adsorption saturated 20~25min after contact, but longer time was necessary for LSZ(~70min). BSA was adsorbed almost twice as much as LSA. An effect of calcium ions was proposed for interpretation of those adsorption behaviors.
