Abstract
Fracture toughness of discontinuous carbon fiber dispersed SiC matrix composite with long and short crack have been evaluated by fracture toughness test. Fracture behavior and fracture toughness of DCF/SiC composite strongly depends on length of the initial crack. In the present research, relationship between the crack length and microstructure was discussed based on the experimental results.
