Abstract
We report a 50-year-old man of recurrent duodenal ulcer after successful eradication therapy for gastro-duodenal ulcer with Helicobacter pylori infection. He was admitted to our hospital with complaint of melena and epigastralgia, and diagnosed as hemorrhagic gastric ulcer with endoscopic examination. He received the treatment for Helicobacter pylori eradiation and Proton pomp inhibitor (PPI) for 8 weeks, and duodenal ulcer healed. But duodenal ulcer recurred by cessation of PPI. At 8 months after eradiation, he complained epigastralgia. Endoscopic examination showed relapse of not gastric ulcer but typical duodenal ulcer. Helicobacter pylori infection was examined by urea breath test and was“negative”.
