Abstract
A 45-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital due to abdominal pain. The patient had been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis induced by alcohol abuse. Abdominal CT scan demonstrated a pancreatic pseudocyst more than 90mm in diameter. The patient underwent EUS-guided pancreatic pseudocyst drainage by simultaneous placement of 7Fr. double pig-tail biliary stent and 5Fr. nasocystic catheter. Two weeks later, the pancreatic peudocyst had decreased in size, and a second stent was placed to drain the cavity. A follow up CT scan 2 months later showed that the pancreatic pseudocyst had disappeared, and no recurrence has been observed.
This case suggested that treatment with EUS guided drainage is useful and safe for pancreatic pseudocyst induced exacerbation of chronic pancreatitis.
