Abstract
An 80-year-old man with no surgical history presented at our hospital with abdominal pain. After abdominal X-ray and contrast-enhanced CT, ileus was diagnosed. Because he had no intestinal necrosis or perforation, we performed endoscopic detorsion instead of emergency surgery. Before detorsion, volvulus and stenosis at the right colon was found by colonoscopy. His postoperative course was uneventful. On the 10 th postoperative day, elective laparoscopy-assisted ileocecectomy was performed, and he left hospital 6 days after operation.
