Abstract
We reported two patients who had sigmoid colon cancer that was performed endoscopic piecemeal mucosal resection (EPMR) under the retroverted observation. The first case was a 73-year-old man, who had sigmoid colon cancer (villous tumor, 40mm in diameter) . Under retroverted observation, Submucosal injection and partial resection was performed and in ordinary observation, complete resection was performed. Histopathological study revealed well differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma (mucosal cancer) . The second case was 79-year-old man, who had sigmoid colon cancer (nodule-aggregating lesion, 40mm in diameter) . Under retroverted observation, submucosal injection was performed and under ordinary observation, additional injection was performed. The lesion was well lifted after submucosal injection and complete resection was performed. Histopathological study revealed well differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma (mocosal cancer) . The submucosal injection under retroverted colonoscopic observation was useful for the resection of lesions over 30mm in diameter.
