Today "Philosophy of Nature" has no positive meaning, because it has no influence on present scientific experiments or theories, and no actual power to change the idea of nature which supports any present science (namely "mechanism" in a vast sense). But it seems to have following negative meanings: (1) It can offer to scientists or engineers of today various ancient ideas of nature as vague hints and indirectly help them to develop their researches. (2) It can give new interpretations of philosophical, scientific or literary classics, bridge a gap between natural science and philosophy, and eventually rewrite the wohle spiritual history of a certain region and of a certain period (for example Germany of the 18th-19th century).
