In this age of globalization and borderless world, it is scarcely significant to talk about the potential of modern Japanese philosophy. The problem how to express oneself concerning philosophical issues in Japanese is only local. Since the rise of chauvinistic fundamentalism of Kokugaku-school in 18 th century, Japanese literature has suffered from the predominance of Yamato-kotoba (originally Japanese words). On the other hand, in the texts of philosophy, many Kango (Chinese words and idioms) were used and even abused in sometimes very arbitrary modifications. The breakthrough amid this bipolar situation will find the way to the open field of world-philosophy.
