Abstract

The brown pigmentation of the skin associated with varicose veins is an essential problem. Some pigmentation become faint after therapy. We measured the color of pigmentation with the use of a color chart for image recording and measuring the color using image analysis software. The brightness of mole were significantly darker than that of pigmentation after sclerotherapy and that of pigmentation caused by varicose veins (p<0.01). These data showed that postsclerotherapy hyperpigmentation and the pigmentation associated with varicose veins are mixed nature, both hemosiderinic and melaninic.
