Abstract

Responses of photodelamination imaging system to Xenon flash lamp were examined. High intensity-shot exposure creates a favorable condition for photodelamination through decomposition and possible softening of photosensitive layer components. Optimum characteristics for the binder are (1) low nitrogen permeation constant and (2) sharp softening temperature range, maximizing the effect of flash exposure which causes photodecomposition of sensitizers and sharp rise in temperature in exposed area. Single and double layer constructions were evaluated for photographic and storage characteristics.
