The History of Photography Originated in the Pinhole Phenomenon

A Foreword to Special Issue

Abstract

Looking back on the history of photography originated in the pinhole phenomenon, the advent of the digital camera is found on the same history track. More than 30 years have passed since an idea of the still video camera, thepredecessor of the digital camera, was proposed. The short history of digital camera was described in the latter half of the foreword.
