Lethal Albino Larvae

Abstract

1. It was proved by incorporation experiments with radioactive compounds that sclerotization of hypodermal cuticle occurs in larval stages of the silkworm.
2. Using radioactive compounds, incomplete sclerotization of the hypodermal cuticle and defective melanin biosynthesis of lethal albino larvae and lethal lemon larvae were substantiated.
