Abstract
Cytogenetic studies are carried out in twelve cases of intersex swine. Eleven cases have a normal female karyotype (38, XX), irrespective of their genital organs showing various abnormalities. One case has an abnormal chromosome set (37, XX) characterized by an autosomal translocation. The sex-chromosomes of all cases are of a normal female type with the XX mechanism. The sex of all cases studied is genetically female.
