Antigenic structures of several species of the genus Saccharomyces had been reported by a few investigators.
This paper deals with experimental results of antigen analyses of another four species of the genus Saccharomyces in connection with the antigen of the genus Candida.
The experiments were carried out by the slide agglutination methods using the monospecific or absorbed antisera. Results obtained were summarized as follows :
These results show that the antigenic structures of S. exiguus and S. acidifaciens are closely resembled and antigenic structures of S. rosei are exactry the same as those of S. fermentati.
The author believes that the antigenic structures of the species will serve as the reliable basis for the accurate classification of the genus.
