Abstract
We investigated the pathogenesis of reflux esophagitis for six years.
We report three cases of adenocarcinoma arising in Barrett's epithelium in patients with high grade reflux esophagitis. In all cases, gastric endoscopy demonstrated a large amount of gastric juice (bile in particular) caused by duodenogastric reflux due to pyloric incompetence in the stomach.
We considered that Barrett's adenocarcinoma was induced by bile acid in Barrett's epithelium with reflux esophagitis.
