Abstract
It has been reported that Waon therapy, using a far infrared ray dry sauna, improves vascular endothelial function and various endogenous hormones and cytokines by raising the patients deep-body temperature by 1.0-1.2°C. We treated two patients with severe chronic heart failure (CHF), who could not discontinue catecholamine infusion without Waon therapy. After Waon therapy, endothelial function and cytokinelevels were improved, resulting in successful discontinuation of catecholamine infusion. Waon therapy may be an effective strategy to improve the general condition of patients with CHF.
